When a Lawyer falls in Love….!!!

When  a Lawyer falls in Love….!!!

A cheeky account of a chubby law graduate , as he waddles through life and law text books , in his rather futile attempts at wooing his pretty Gujrathi classmate.

Ankur Palekar, a third year law student, believes his life is quite sorted out, except that he does not want to become a lawyer, has a family history of lunacy and has actually fallen in love.

Vyas, Ankur’s room mate and best friend, has no such  problems- only a girl friend who emerges from a grave yard of all places and who insists on visiting him in his boys hostel. A malayali friend, whose car never starts and vocal chords never stop, a college festival being organized without the college  and an arranged marriage which is more deranged than arranged.

Funny, pacey, yet it has it’s moments, ‘When a Lawyer falls in Love…!!!” is the kind of book, that will make you laugh and cry, both for the same reasons!

Excerpt from the book..

Chapter 15

The Father, Son and the Holy Spirit. When Pavan Nair set about to do something, the urgent services of all three was required. A handloom exhibition  had come to the city and Sonali’s Gujrathi soul had been awakened. She simply had to go. And she simply had to take along Jaishree Subramanium  who simply could not travel by public transport. Hence Pavan’s ambassador was requested.

Since it was the two girls going alone, Rohit decided to go along. Since it was the two girls alone with Rohit, Souvik decided to go along too. And since Jaishree was uncomfortable with the idea of just two couples, Vyas and Ankur the third couple  who were happy though not gay decided to pile on.  And ofcourse Pavan was going, since it was his car!

Thus the secret seven set off, bunking the afternoon session on a lazy Friday , to grace a remote exhibition with their presence. While the girls shopped, the boys had decided to relive their childhood by taking roller coaster rides. And with seven adults in a rickety old ambassador, it seemed like their wishes were coming true. The roller coaster ride had already begun.

Pavan was at the wheel with Ankur and lanky Vyas fighting for space as they sat in the front…

Okay people, keeping in mind, how touchingly modest (!!) I otherwise am, here’s some news about the book…

When a Lawyer falls in Love had climbed to sit on the Best sellers book shelf  at book stores such as Odyssey, Walden and Himalaya, Hyderabad.  Within 3 months  of its release into the market, the book was on its way for a reprint.  Also, ‘out of stock’ was the stock phrase that most sales people at book stores would use, when asked about the book. Never mind, if I would be the only one asking.

All the same, if you are a student of mind who is reading this, you are expected to take your hands off the key board and start applauding…..now!! : :D

And now with a modest smile, I proceed to show you  some links for the reviews  of the book…
